Puppy Selection

How Puppy selection works:

At Silver City Cockapoos our main focus is neither gender nor aesthetics. While we completely understand desiring a certain color or gender when it comes to your new puppy, our goal is to bring you a lifelong companion who's temperament and trainable attitude supersedes appearance, although we think every shade of pup is adorable. As our litters may contain various coat shades and patterns we cannot guarantee the availability of any one particular puppy, color or gender at the time of selection so we ask that families please remain flexible. If the choice of any particular puppy from a litter is a deal breaker for you then you may want to defer your deposit until a litter that better suits your preferences comes along, with that said you may end up waiting longer the more specific your preferences are. Our selection process begins after the puppies are 7 weeks old and we have had the opportunity to complete their temperament assessments. Selection occurs in order of deposit date.

Puppy selection takes place when the pups are around 7 weeks old. We have temperament evaluations done with our trainer at that time, then go over with families the puppies based on those results and each families individual needs to help each family select the puppy best suited for them. This ensures no family ends up with a “leftover” puppy. Each family has their own unique individual needs and wants, we find that families and their puppies have happier lives overall if they mesh in not only looks/ gender but more importantly personal lifestyle compatibility. We of course will never make any family take a puppy they do not want and when the time comes if you would prefer, you may defer your deposit to a future litter.
