Guardian Program

What is the guardian Program?

We believe that a loving home environment is a fundamental part to producing well mannered, happy, healthy puppies. As our Cockapoo family grows, guardian homes allow us to provide this type of environment for each and every one of our beloved past, present, and future moms and dads. We thoroughly vet all guardian applicants to ensure the best environment for our dogs. We require each guardian to bring their puppy to training classes for at least the beginner course to learn basic obedience and how to have good social etiquette with other dogs and people. We will reimburse the cost of the classes as we feel this is an important step in becoming a well rounded dog that’s enjoyable to have in your home.

Guardian dogs will be pick of the litter and families that participate in the program will have the puppy as a pet for their lifetime. Guardian families are responsible for normal veterinary, grooming, and feeding expenses. Silver City Cockapoos is responsible for all breeding related expenses.

Female guardians live with their families for most of the year and will return to Silver City Cockapoos for breeding and whelping. Guardian families are welcome to visit mama and her puppies while she stays for the duration of their 8 weeks after which she will return to her guardian family. Females may be bred up to a maximum of 4 litters in their duration as a breeding dog.

Male guardians live with their families and return to Silver City Cockapoos for breeding. They may be with us up to 1-2 weeks at a time during their stay or if you live within 20 minutes of Sherrill, NY can opt to transport him to and from our home every other day. We will always try to give as much notice as possible prior to needing their services but there may be times that we will need them available at a moments notice.
